We are at a tipping point for breast cancer vaccines. Recent discoveries have identified the type of immune response we need to eradicate cancers, numerous immunogenic proteins expressed by breast cancer that can be targeted with vaccines, and novel vaccine technologies that are safe an effective in generating immunity. These advances have been translated to breast cancer vaccines progressing rapidly in the clinic for treatment, prevention of disease recurrence, and even prevent of the development of breast cancer.
