WHAT INSPIRES YOU TO LIVE A GREAT LIFE?
I have lost both of my parents. Their lives inspire me as I recognize more and more the challenges they faced, what they achieved, and everything they did for me as parents. I also am inspired to act and achieve in ways that would make them proud.
WHAT IS THE SECRET TO MAINTAINING A POSITIVE OUTLOOK?
For me, it is understanding the challenges that others face and letting go of the “grass is always greener” mentality. If we always look at those more “successful”, however one defines success, we can never be happy or satisfied. I try to recognize ways in which I have been luckier than others and to appreciate every day as best as I can.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE EMPOWERED?
To me it means taking control of one’s self: exercising autonomy over our bodies and minds to live an intentional life. It means not letting things happen to us, but rather, accepting what we cannot change and changing what we can with intention and focus.
WHAT IS THE GREATEST CHALLENGE OF YOUR PROFESSION?
Successfully connecting with a constantly changing and evolving student body.
WHY DO YOU BELIEVE WHAT YOU DO HAS A POSITIVE IMPACT ON YOUNG WOMEN NAVIGATING LIFE AFTER BREAST CANCER?
We can all live more intentionally, authentically, and productively. I hope to help young women in this way.
